Subj : Re: efficient way of processing m combinations of n numbers in p sets To : comp.programming From : Mike Date : Wed Aug 17 2005 02:00 pm I am trying to look at it from the point of view that the horse with the least odds will require the greatest bid placed on it. I believe all the other bets on the other horses should be in proportion to this initial bet (and the odds on these other horses). The problem I have is that it has been over 10 years since I was at Uni and my maths skills are pretty poor, so trying to derive this is tricky :-) If it was possible to apply minimum constraints to Mike's mathematical workings would this come close to descibing the proportions required in relation to the initial bet placed on the lowest odds horse? Thanks, Mike .
