I.e. much as suggested by Joe Wright. But I'd start a little easier than he suggests (speaking for me anyway). Your are self taught? Otherwise a good instructor would give you good exercises. If you are using a good textbook, the textbook may suggest worthwhile exercises and doable by you, in a finite time. Let us know what you have achieved already (in terms of programs written and things you 'can do') and we may be able to help further. The nice thing about a 'real' program is that it will force you to do things that are other than you know well and consider easy; OTOH, if self-taught, such a exercise may be impossibly difficult, or ridiculously easy. With a 'real program', you will learn things, and make mistakes, that exercises find it hard to achieve. Best regards, Jon C. .
