But in terms of the general class of functional languages, it is of course an exaggeration - functional languages undoubtedly have some uses. Given the bizarre attachment to them shown by many enthusiasts, however, I suspect that the actual usage of functional languages, such as it is, more than honours the extent of their usefulness. - Gerry Quinn .
