So, it sounds like you're coming from an embedded background mostly.
That's fine, but I would call that a somewhat-narrow POV also because
that's not all of the programming that's going on out there.

Remember what Rick D. asked:

There are "great" careers in many programming fields, depending on
whether he was defining "great" as an easy job that pays (web), or
intellectually challenging (embedded, assembler, mathematical, etc.).
