I don't know about others here, but if I had the choice, I'd much rather 
make $40K sitting in a clean, air-conditioned room developing software 
than make $50K+ working around high voltages, fixing other people's 
toilets, or getting shot at. And there's a much better chance that I'll 
actually get to USE my retirement package, lousy as it might be :-)
