Subj : Algorithm to calculate Mass-Fractal

Hi all,
There are soft-condensed matter objects(proteins for example) with
fractal mass distribution, at times. - We know it from the literature
survey. Can anybody provide me with a generalised algorithm or
source-code or flow-chart - anything of that sort, so as to calculate
it in all such cases?

Also some url.s or text-references dealing with such problems will be
highly helpful for my studies.
