I'm a new one to this and am learning quickly how to swear easily.
Have a 3yr old Compaq 6000,Pent 4 1.7GHz,512 ram, 80GB hddrv, 48x CD
drv, 32x rw, 56kIYU mdm, SoundmaxIII, 64MB nVidia, Dskjt 882c, scanner.
 Am adding remote 200GB hddrv & 2nd CD drv along with a plotter.  Here
the thing that's happening.  Have installed 3 Cadd programs and within
3 to 10 days, it erases any and all programs that are installed.  It's
been in 6 shops in 5 months.  Each time the hddrv is stripped, cleaned,
and all programs are re-installed.  Again the arch./Cadd's are gone
when I open up to use them.  I have a feeling that this thing is
preprogrammed to countermand any user installed programs.  The clue
that this happening is that when I send an email, it gets bounced back
to the inbox.  Sure enough every time I check a program is gone.  Can
somebody tell me if I'm right?  And if so what can I do about it.
Right now I have several programs downloaded; the remotes & plotter are
not hooked up yet.  And I'm leary of installing this stuff.  Am also
thinking of dropping PeoplePC dialup.  Anyone have any suggestions?
