That tale is probably much less common than this true story:

A chick brings home her boyfriend, and her parents are surprised to discover
he's black.

Did I mention the chick was white?

Her parents recover, and later on they carefully and patiently explain to
her that no "real boyfriend" is going to want to be with her after they find
out she has been with a black man.

The standard answer here? "I wouldn't want to be with the kind of guy who
wouldn't want me if he knew I was with a black guy."

You don't want to work for a company that would bounce you for working for a
non-profit.
