What I often do under such conditions is ignore
such sections and focus on technical issues instead.

I can't. Polymorphism fans keep trying to rewrite
it all and complain to management that I ain't
using enough OO. "He's a luddite; he won't
use polymorphic dispatching." Peace out the door.

Sets are more logical. Spock would use them.
