Find a compliant teddy bear, and prop it up in a suitable listening
pose.  Tell it the details of your problem, how you have
investigated things, etc.  At the completion, or even during, this
process you are very likely to have discovered the answer.

Some people substitute human beings for the bear.  If so they
should be trained to emit "go on" grunts at semi-regular
intervals.  The odd "hmmm" is also useful.
