Software packages implement a certain business model. The business model is hard coded and is impossible to change in any significant way. The information analyst's job now is to change the corporation's procedures to fit the software's business model. It's not just things like accounting or HR or manufacturing. I did backups at one point and if we changed backup software we would have had to change all our customers' support contracts to reflect the new and different back up policy. The backup policies supported by the different vendors are substantially different and can't be made the same thru the customization facilities available. -- Joe Seigh When you get lemons, you make lemonade.
