Subj : Finding all "devices" attached to a system To : borland.public.cpp.borlandcpp From : askonlineandIllsend Date : Tue Oct 04 2005 03:40 am I am relatively new to (microsoft) Windows programming on small computers (PC's.) I need a way to enumerate all devices attached to a PC including, but not limited to keyboard(s), pointing device(s), printer(s), serial port(s), parallel port(s), video adapter/controller(s), sound controller(s), network adapter/controller(s) and disk devices. As a trivial example, how does one determine the number of hard drives physically attached to a PC?...and then query those drives for their types, capacities and other characteristics? In short, we need a software method of retrieving information similar to what Windows provides in its "Device Manager." Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Thanks very much, David .
