Hello Ed, ..... > The BIOS on those machines does not always properly > correlate with the video card. This strikes me as bizarre, as the Graphics-BIOS is (as far as I know) part of the *Graphics-card*, not the machine (I gather you mean motherboard) ... And INT 10h -calls go directly to that bios,. > While I have not noticed what you say when I read > Ralf Brown's list, what I am speaking of is what is, > not what someone wrote. In that case we've got a problem, as I'm speaking from my own experience too. And although I never designed a PC (other than choosing a motherboard and other components, and plug them together), I have designed & build one based on the Z80 processor (before the PC). > - You are using a compiler form 17 years ago and pitching > a fit about it not doing what you HOPE it would do. Strange, if you realize that my starting-point was a question about how to tell TC to accept my setting, instead of having me work within it's (currently faulty) limits. > On top of that you say that you do even have the debugger. > Both why you do not have one and how you can expect to > develop without a debugger is beyond me. But I seldom see a benefit in using them, especially when I have a source-file at hand, and can add debugging-output to it whereever I want it. But in this case I would like not to change the standard libraries. Ofcourse, I could reverse-engeneer the origional one, change it to my liking, create a new lib and use that from now on. But somehow I have the feeling I do not currently know all it's secrets (which could give means to an easier solution), which is why I posted my question. > The compiler is from SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO. As I said, I assumed that I just did not know the way to tell TC what I wanted. Alas, although that still might be true it looks like TC cannot listen .... :-) Regards, Rudy Wieser .
