Subj : Sending AVI across network

i have an AVI and compressed it to DICOM object after giving it all the 
information, then i try to send it across network. but when using Codecs 
while Capturing my AVI, the dicom file is not send to the server, instead 
sometimes it is send as an image file or not sent at all..
I'm using Borland C++ 5 with TVideoGrabber to capture the AVI's
can anyone help me
