I think the fact that it is Australian software subtly and positively influenced me, as I suspected that the support would be very good. So after a length evaluation period, and some minor changes in Zues from the Author (who is really helpful), I have decided to go with Zeus, as my IDE (http://www.zeusedit.com). I will continue with Borlandc 5.02 (but not the IDE) for my DOS applications, but have converted many of the 32bit applications to Visual C (VS6 in the first instance). Using make files, with a rather hacked (in the old sense of the word) version of makedepend and Zeus it seems I can have the best of both worlds. And running make files, with and IDE that stores most of its data in xml, gives me a feeling of confidence about the robustness of the environment which was starting to strain at the edges as it grew over time. regards DM .
