Try it again in the manner I describe below: Start the IDE Open the project Right click on the EXE name in the project window Select TargetExpert from the popup menu which appears In the TargetExpert dialog adjust to match these settings Target Type is Application Platform is Win32 Close the dialog and right click on each of the source file names For each select Edit Local Options and change any setting which refers to 16 bit Finish by doing an Options|Save, make sure that the checkbox next to Project is checked and then click Ok Now close the IDE and either open a command window or start Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer).
