is there any possible way i can view the line number for each line in the 
code or is this not possible?

its just i am studying software dev at uni and need to develop a dry run 
table for a small program with 80 or so lines, it really would be a pain to 
count to each line so can i display them on screen easy and at hand

i am using c++ 5.01, it is very old from the mid 90's i believe.

any help greatly appreciated
