I had a look at the Watcom IDE a little while back, and found it not up to scratch. But my comment about Watcom was related just to the compiler. Basically, I want to use hand coded make files, an editor/IDE, and command line compilers, linkers and the rest. A sort of time warp into the late 80's or early 90's. This will give me the freedom to use whatever language I desire for whatever application (I also now seem to do a lot of HTML and PHP for example), while still retaining a familiar development environment. I am not convinced that the IDE I want has been developed yet. regards DM .
