You need to get a good book on the STL then. std::vector is a major
feature of it but it's only the tip of the iceberg. Just don't be put
off by the erase(remove()) idiom :)

I usually refer to "Effective STL" by Scott Meyers (ISBN 0-201-74962-9)

std::auto_ptr is the only feature I use more than std::vector :)
