An external assembler is only needed for assembly language files or for 32 bit files which contain inline assembly. I think the TASM32.EXE from BCB3 is the same as the one which came with BC++ 5.02. Check what is in the tasm.cfg file in the compiler's BIN directory and the settings in the IDE for what to do with a *.asm file. ..
