I'll add that IMO you will save yourself a lot of grief and hassle if you forget the concept of a current folder. All paths should be made absolute as your application gets its hands on them. The Borland IDE would have fewer problems if Borland followed that route. Storing paths as relative outside of the application (ie;a project file) is fine..good even.
