Greetings all!

I'm looking for a linux BBS software package (either free or full
featured <$30) that's accessible via telnet/dial-up (ssh?) and
has pretty decent forum capabilities.

I tried out a few, but they didn't behave like the traditional BBS
I'm aiming for... they required the user to connect, login TO LINUX,
and then gave them a shell! While this is a nice feature, and one 
I wouldn't mind having, I am really looking for a BBS that doesn't 
require me to add users to the linux system itself, I'd rather have
the traditional type BBS where you log in at the BBS interface and 
Linux isn't responsible for keeping track of the users, the BBS 
software is.

Can anyone recommend something?
