What does this do? It's not JUST a mailing list. It can do email, usenet, 
telnet, web, ftp, irc and alot more. The first link is for the server 
software. The second link is for a free dynamic dns service that will let you 
have hostname.yourbbs.com (or) yourname.com for free. Well, hostnames are 
free. Dynamic DNS for domains is free. but you obviously have to PAY FOR the 
yourname.com address, which isn't much.

You can host this on your home broadband connection. Lets face it, your not 
gonna BE the next yahoo.com so your broadband connection is more than 
sufficient. If on the off chance you DO become the next Yahoo.com, you'll be 
rich off your ass and able to upgrade past broadband :-)

Will leaving your computer on 24/7 run up your electric bill? No. As long as 
you use the power saver that turns off your monitor, it won't.
