Subj : Looking for former BBS aficianados To : alt.bbs.ads,alt.bbs.ra,alt.bbs.renegade,alt.bbs.sysop,alt.bbs.tribbs,alt.bbs.wildcat,alt.bbs.wildcat.wccode From : "Carl Carter" Date : Wed Jul 16 2003 10:01 pm I saw your ad on thebbs.org talking about BBSmates... well-put ad, I thought. Certainly it was enough to pique my curiosity: a list of 75,000 Bases that existed from the 80's to present. I AM a sysop and I,too...want to look for my old BBS and yes, even add it if it's not on your list. Like everyone else (BBS sysops, I mean..) I and my BBS was devastated with the birth of the internet. But like many sysops, I kept my BBS software (Wildcat! v.5 and later WinServer) up-to-date and decided one day to reinstall it and with help of others, got it back online through Telnet and a URL. My BBS is Pro-Files! BBS in Charleston, SC and I was online from May 31, 1989 until the advent of the migration of most BBS users to the Internet. My web page is: http://www.Pro-files.tzo.com ftp: Pro-files.tzo.com Telnet Pro-files.tzo.com .
