 Mystic is unfortunately not very supported but it's author, howeverm as for 
more modern and complient BBS Softwares today (that are free), if I had to 
rank them, i'd have to say:

1) Synchronet (Win/*nix/OS2/DOS/etc...)
2) EleBBS (Win/DOS)
3) Mystic (Win/OS2/DOS)
4) Telegard (DOS/OS2 - Requires front end telnet daemon)
5) Renegade (Win32 / DOS - Requires front end telnet daemon)
6) Iniquity (DOS - Requires front end telnet daemon)
7) WWIV (Win32 / DOS)
8) VADV (DOS - Requires front end telnet daemon)
