Announcement:
Citadel/UX v6.22 is now available. Its rewritten session scheduler
with innovative new Thundering Herd (tm) technology should be able to
support hundreds, if not thousands, of concurrent users. Data store
improvements in this release will also help with scalability when you have
lots of IMAP users who keep lots of big attachments in their mail
messages.
WebCit v5.22 has been released along with the new Citadel version (if
you do one, do both please). Numerous UI improvements have been added to
this version, along with some performance improvements on this side as
well.
My current focus is on performance, accuracy (there still are some
obscure IMAP clients that may act weird with Citadel, and I aim to fix
that), and making the WebCit UI the best possible web-based groupware
front end. Expect more of this during the rest of the 6.2x series.
IO is working on some fun stuff as well, such as the first production
release of Easy Install, and new ways of accessing the Instant Messenger
facilities in Citadel.
I never know what to expect from LS, but when he checks something into
the tree it's almost always incredibly behind-the-scenes important. We
have LS to thank for the fact that the ever-growing Citadel system
actually *works*.
Share and Enjoy.
