That's very true, and I'll happily say that the vast majority don't do it :) 
Was just giving one example of provided personal info gone wrong.

That works for me... no arguments there.  Name and location are cool with me...
it's the requests for a full address and/or voice phone number that give me
pause.

Again, to clarify, I think that the vast majority of Sysops handle personal
info appropriately, and don't do anything bad with it.  But my point was that
some sysops -- only a small handful -- sometimes overstep the bounds w/ the
personal info.
