I figured asking them in >DoveNet was easier than internet emailing everyone in DoveNet seperately. But right off the bat, the *moderator* of DoveNet told you that he was not interesting in having DoveNet bases gated. So I don't see why there was any need for additional A-B conversations with other people about the topic. The moderator said no, that should have been the end of the conversation, yet you continued to make posts about gating DoveNet. > How many DoveNet Sysops would have gone out of their way to >join the network had it NOT been pre installed? Probably a large number. It's the Synchronet support network, after all. It makes sense to have it pre-installed. Half of its message bases involve Synchronet support and Synchronet development. I don't understand exactly what your problem with DoveNet is. The fact that it's 95% pre-installed makes it easy for sysops to get Synchronet support quickly and easily; it's a huge convenience. And if a sysop *doesn't* want DoveNet, they don't need to enable it, and in fact can delete all remnants of its configuration from their system by hitting the delete key once on an SCFG message base config menu. .
