But some applications have been transferred to dual intel processor machines running Linux already, and it is only a matter of time until Solaris machine are abandonned totally, most likely in favor of Linux, simply because it is cheaper to have several powerful intel than one big powerful solaris. Charge is easier to modulate as well. The solaris machine currently has some 45 cpu, to give you an idea of the computing power needed. Other than that, there are still a couple of HP unix and Sinix (Siemens' unix), but those are definitely phasing out. Happy new year.
