Nope - he said "none of the current flavours". I wondered which of the "current 
flavours" he'd actually tried. Does he have access to EVERY ONE of them? I use 
Slackware (7), and I've yet to have it not recognise a CDROM.

Vanilla kernels - as long as you choose a SCSI kernel when it's a SCSI CDROM.
