I got a hold of a couple of those m$ packages, and they're pretty hairy. You unzip one and it creates this whole huge directory tree, and I'm not sure what's needed and what's "extra" (drivers etc.) in there, nor was it at all clear as to how to make it work. And assuming I did get it working, I'd then have to figure out how to integrate it into my current setup, what with QEMM's optimize routine and such. More of a pain in the rear end than I wanted to mess with. And besides, going to DRDOS would let me get m$-free on this box, too. :-) Closest I've gotten so far to getting the networking stuff going is to run a packet driver with the NCSA telnet package's ftp program. That worked well for the most part, but I had to back out of dv first to load the packet driver, and then restart dv, then when I was done repeat the process and unload the driver. If I didn't do that I'd end up with a lockup at some point later on. Maybe I should have optimized it, or something, I dunno. OTOH, maybe I'll get somewhere with dosemu, instead. :-) --- * Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) .
