I've installed FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE on a 486DX4 100MHz with 16MB of RAM, and then ran 'make installworld' from an NFS share, which installed i686 optimised sources (no way am I waiting for a 486 to make world :) ). It runs very smoothly. The one thing that needs to be specified, as you may know, is the CPU type in the kernel config file. I had the opportunity to install it on a 386, but I wimped out at the last minute. I'll have to give that a shot sometime soon. :) Brad --- Msged/BSD TE 06 (pre) * Origin: TMA-1.brad-x.com/www.brad-x.com (1:229/605) .
