Subj : FreeBSD 4.3-RC buffer issue To : Tobias Ernst From : Russell Tiedt Date : Wed Apr 18 2001 01:38 pm Hi Tobias, TE> Las time I cared ~ 200 MB, maybe more nowadys, but 500 MB is enough TE> definitely and should even leave room for /var and /home. TE> The rest of the stuff is packages, ports and source code. That's one TE> nice thing about FreeBSD - the core system is just 200 MB and you get TE> everything that you expect from a "standard" Unix including even TE> basic development tools. The rest of the CD's is just software that TE> you can install, but don't have to, like all sorts of tools and X TE> window stuff. Mmmm....., when I get around to moving my e-mail and gateway setup onto my NT box, I think I will put FreeBSD 4.0, that I have here, on this otherwise worthless 486DX2 66 with 24 Meg RAM and a 500 Meg HDD.
