Subj : FreeBSD 4.3-RC buffer issue To : ALL From : Brad Laue Date : Fri Apr 13 2001 02:00 pm Hello ALL! Hoping this will get some interest going in this echo again - I'll be posting a few things about FreeBSD that come up as I run into them here; follow along and post questions/comments if you want. First issue on the table: -- FreeBSD-4.2-04112001-STABLE snapshot -- For those not aware, FreeBSD's source tree is released as a daily snapshot along all devel branches - with this cvsup, a problem was introduced, as follows. nmap -sS -vvv -O 12.34.56.78 Will generate "sendto: out of buffer space .. waiting 15 seconds and retrying" errors. These are driver errors, not generated by nmap itself. If you've had similar problems, please let me know - I've had two responses from freebsd-stable@freebsd.org indicating that I'm not alone. 4.3-RELEASE, the production snapshot to be printed on CD-ROM, will be released on the 20th, and I want to make the FreeBSD team aware of this issue before that happens. How many BSD people do we have lurking on FidoNet? I'd be interested in knowing that :) Cheers! Brad --- Msged/BSD TE 06 (pre) * Origin: TMA-1.brad-x.com/www.brad-x.com (1:229/605) .
