Best way is to do this:

      dd if=/dev/rcdrom of=/dev/null bs=1k

and note how many blocks are read -- which will tell you the size of the image 
in K.

Of course the previous suggestion to mount the CD and look at it is the 
easiest.. but the CDROM may not always have a mountable filesystem on it.
