Go for it.....

Concerning "releasing" stuff....  If we are going to release a binary, we 
should also release the source code for that binary.  If I remember correctly, 
only Scott, Wes and myself currently have the release authorization set on the 
maximus project on sourceforge.  Do you want to coordinate this release, of 
course using the sourceforge support for that?
