Subj : SqaFix code released under GPL To : All From : Bob Jones Date : Fri Aug 15 2003 12:35 pm All: Pete release the source code for SqaFix to Bo and I for cleanup and release under the GPL. The code has been reviewed, cleaned up and is now released under the GPL as part of the Maximus project on SourceForge. The code is currently only available in the CVS archives there. Because of how sourceforge is currently running, it may take up to 24 hours for non-developers to gain access to this newly checked in code. I have not had a chance to place the associated configuration files and documentation in the CVS archives yet. Until I can get with Wes to update the contents of the max-3.03-etc.tar.gz archive (or equivalent), a few pieces that you need (configuration file wise) to run the program are missing. If you pick up the SqaFix 0.99a8 archive distribution, you should be able to find the needed documentation and control files for getting this code running. If you installed max in the default /var/max location, then place sqafix.cfg (file name in lower case) in /var/max/etc, and you should be able to get the program to run, provided you update path and file name information properly for your setup. The code in the CVS archive commpiles on atleast two Linux based systems -- mine and Bo's. My system is a Debian Woody 3.0r1 system. I'm not sure what Bo's set consists of. We could use additional developer support for getting the GPL'ed code compiling and running under OS/2, Win32 and DOS based systems. Some of the code that Pete used was third party code that could not be placed under the GPL. So, there is a little work needed to get the code to compile for other operating systems. Please submit any needed code updates to get SqaFix running under OS/2, Win32 or DOS to myself or Bo so that we can get the changes into the main cvs archive. If you notice any bugs in the SqaFix code running under a Unix or Linux environment, please let us know here. While the code is setup and compiling for 32 bit little endian systems, there may be bugs related with big endian systems, and I'm sure there are bugs related to 64 bit systems. The code has only been tested on Intel compatible based CPU's at this time.... Enjoy and take care...... Bob Jones, 1:343/41 --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Top Hat 2 BBS (1:343/41) .
