Subj : Compression question To : Jerry Schwartz From : Peter Knapper Date : Sat Jul 26 2003 04:09 pm Hi Jerry, PK> The DEFINES only contain a list of the nodes to process for each PK> command and no FLAVOUR or other values at all. I use several PK> different SCHEDULES, however most require very similar Node PK> relationships, hence why I use common DEFINES for them. JS> Right, but in trying to visualize what happens to your JS> mail I can't tell which commands might or might not JS> operate on the same packets. In general, for the SEND and ROUTE commands, the macros used earlier in a Schedule define VERY SPECIFIC nodes to be processed (IE the processing there is highly SELECTIVE), whereas the macros used towards the end of that same Schedule tend to use wildcards (the processing there is GENERAL). Once I moved to using HOLD as the flavour for all my SEND and ROUTE processing, I have never seen a situation where a later Wildcard entry has touched any previous Specific entry managed earlier within the same schedule. JS> Perhaps the OS/2 version is buggy in this regard. I doubt that its an OS specific situation, at least there is no obvious reason for such an OS specific variation.
