Subj : Potential Squish bug: Forward File routing To : Bob Jones From : Joe Davis Date : Tue Jul 22 2003 07:00 pm BJ> With links mainly by TCP/IP now, I expect more folks will attempt to ^^^^^^^ bingo! In my case, on one side is email, and the other is ftp. BJ> use it.... Back when it was mainly POTS LD for bringing in feeds, BJ> the cost kept folks like me from making it generally available.... BJ> And normal file distribution was done via a seperate .TIC file BJ> processor..... [...] JD>> And that eventually, there are plans to have a new OS/2 JD>> ver of Max and Squish? BJ> I would like to get the code compiling under OS/2 again, but once I BJ> have it running good under Linux, I'm likely to not run OS/2 as much BJ> as I am now.... Well... I sure do hope somebody comes along that wants to keep the OS/2 version alive. :) [...] BJ> From what you documented, there is probably a bug. Are you defining BJ> your inbound and outbound mail paths using full path specifications? BJ> Hmmmm..... Y As in: NetFile D:\BT\In JD>> Should you or any of the other gurus with me to do any JD>> more experiments with my current software, just let me JD>> know. :) BJ> I don't think we have anything else to recommend trying at this time BJ> as far as squish goes. You could consider various .TIC file BJ> processors and see if they can perform the function you are trying to BJ> achieve..... Nope. Using NEF as a Tic processor, and it does fine. What I'm needing does not involve Tic processing, but a file attached to a routed netmail. I can, when motivated, figure some work-around, I'm sure. Matt reminded me of some software that I already have, that I might be able to use to get the job done. Not sure... haven't delved into it. Mainly, I wanted to get it on record - share what I had observed.... and I had a teensy little bit of hope that somebody might pop up and tell me some obscure trick that I'd missed. :) I think I said this to Matt earlier... but its kinda like - I want to use that function in Squish, because its right there, documented, and looks to me just like what I need. I wanna make Squish do it... I don't wanna work around it. Ok... thanks very much. Please to you, and whomever, kindly remember this when you re-do the OS/2 version of Squish next week. or whenever.... :) ......Joe --- Msged/2 TE 05 * Origin: Cairdeas (1:261/1380) .
