Subj : Forward File routing To : Matt Bedynek From : Joe Davis Date : Tue Jul 22 2003 11:22 am Hi Matt, MB> 21 Jul 03 13:19, you wrote to all: MB> File forwarding has likely not been used extensively because in the MB> past nobody wanted to burdon the cost of routing files for others. Understood. Maybe that's why, once upon a time when I inquired, ... I don't recall anybody replying that they had succesful experience with using this feature of Squish. At that time, I never considered what you said above. MB> I suspect that it is indeed a bug. I gave enough detail to convice you, huh? :) Thank you - and all - for reading that lengthy post. MB> If you discover that is such a MB> case, you can use a netmail tracking that provides such capabilities, MB> such a Ftracker. And interesting work-around. But, at present, my purpose in commenting here in TUB, was to share my experience with these wonderful folks that are working on Max and Squish. Beyond that, it just sorta bugs me. Because it is there, it should work. And there is always that nagging feeling that is nothing wrong with the software, but that bright-boy here is missing the boat. :) I'd like to find out...one way or another... is it really a bug, or just me? I have FTrack. Would that be the one to which you refer? I played with it and set up a "PingBot" that any sysop can use for testing routed netmail. I got the idea from a feature in... Allfix I think it was... anyway, its a neat toy, that some sysops find very handy. This idea of yours goes on the to-do list. Very low for now, though. Thanks.
