Switch to the NT version and not the DOS version of Squish and Max.  The DOS 
version has some lower limits than the OS/2 version.  So, if you have some 
large file bases,  maybe the DOS version  is having trouble because of a 
message area size.  The NT version I believe has similar limits to the OS/2 
version.

And have you applied the Y2K patches after the base install on the Windows XP 
system?

Also, there are issues  with running a front end with Maximus in a windows 
environment.  Are you having any problems passing the modem port from your 
front end to Maximus?  If not, then that set of issues isn't your problem.

Fair warning, I have not tried to run the software in a Windows XP enviornment, 
so I don't know what type of "gotchas" might be specific to the latest version 
of windows.
