Subj : Win XP To : All From : Dale Shipp Date : Sun Oct 20 2002 02:52 pm * Crossposted from: Muffin I am in the process of attempting to move my BBS system from one computer to another. On the current computer, I am running OS/2 Warp 3, with the SIO drivers etc. I have the combination of IM frontend, Maximus and Squish, using maxp and squ386p. The system I am going to be using will be running Windows XP home edition. I have tried copying all of my files over, and then installing the Maximus and Squish for DOS, using max and squish instead of maxp and sq386p. I am trying to set up shortcuts to run the various programs in a CMD window. It has not all worked yet. At this time, the main question I would ask is whether or not this should work -- once I get all of the settings right. Or am I missing something major such as the DOS version will just not work under WinXP? I see that there is a version for WinNT on the web site. Maximus seems to run, but has a problem with the message pointers. In several echos, the message number is several hundred thousand. In those echos, I can read or scan the messages as a whole -- but the pointer does not get reset nor can I go to any particular message number (e.g. 199002) and start there. I am also having a problem with my frontend -- it errors out, but that is a question for another echo. dale (at) min (dot) net (1:261/1466) ....
