The system here handled up to 256k,  I think it was,  no problems.  Even bigger 

sometimes.  But I had one message that came in here from a mailing list that 
went out via fido that actually caused a lockup on another link up the chain.  
That one was about 48k all by itself,  in a single message,  lots of html and 
such in there.  Unfortunately I'm the gateway for that "echo",  and had to stop 

gating it.

Agreed.  And there sure as heck shouldn't be a problem for mailers and other 
software!

I run pktsort here,  but don't have it splitting messages at all,  I just use 
it to sort messages by echo.  It takes all of the multiple pkt files coming in 
and makes one big one,  all mail for one echo all together,  so it speeds 
tossing.  Available as psrt_14.zip,  once I finish getting things straightened 
out (or I can email it to anybody that wants it till then).
