People need to stop and think about the whole concept of "giving your
word" and "lying".

"Giving your word" means making a promise to do something.
"Lying" means saying something which you know is not true.

"Changing your mind" is not breaking your word if your word wasn't
given. Nor does "changing your mind" make your previous statement a
"Lie".

I'll ask again, who has never changed their mind about something?  

Whoever can honestly answer "yes" is more stubborn than intelligent.
