Subj : Re: Lethal Lotto To : All From : feral Date : Fri Jan 03 2003 06:46 pm Hi Pagan, I believe the Lethal Lotto should run somewhere. Sure their are critics, but they have the option not to play. The Lethal Lotto is open to ALL players, but the game I propose is for some of the better players to take some unknowns into a game against other teams led by the better players. So the two are different. Maybe call my idea the "TW Mentor Lotto" or something. Anyway I guess the next step would be, considering you offered the use of your server, would be to poll some of the "Better" players to see if they are willing to commit their time to make this work. You are the only person who has responded in a postive manner regarding this. Thanks for your interest. Feral >From a message by pagan about Re: Lethal Lotto: > You guys both have great ideas... and I am willing to bet we can get it to happen. At least you are both telling me that the mid-ranks are an area we can focus on, and that I am not crazy! (I had 3 other servers express an interest in participating in an "underleague" round robin format play, but have not heard back to see what settings etc. they want. I can go ahead and set up a 1- 2 week game, but would rather have it come from several sysops working together.) > > Lethal Lotto or any kind of blind draw can be very interesting.. I am very willing to work with anyone who wants to do this, either as a player or as a game designer, and will make my standalone server available (much as I did with Galactic Chaos for Ender.) *If* we do a Lethal Lotto, I would like to see it changed to Jackal's Lethal Lotto, or in some way honor his contribution to the game. > > It isn't that I have a huge amount of time, it is more that I see this intermediate group as the elite class of the future. Yeah, their rears will be smeared with fig marks from the elites now and they may never be the best players, but if we can do a game or two or even three with the elites mixed in, it will go far to increase participation in the game. Scary, but it would be awesome to have a league or tourney game with more than just the standard 20 people playing, don't you think? > > Vader, Feral.. what do you think the next step could be? > > Pagan > Stardock Omega > > > > > > > >From a message by Vader about Lethal Lotto: > > Someone really needs to run this game.
