Actually I'm using VGA 50-line mode on this box,  and on the other two go for 
as high as I can get it,  which means 132x60 in textmode and 1024x767 in X,  
I'm not sure if that monitor will do 12xx x xxxx,  whatever the next step up 
is.  And it's only a 13" monitor anyway,  anything bigger would take up too 
much of my desk.  And I spend a fair amount of time in KDE.

Yes,  there is that,  which I think is pretty nice.  Though the ability to do 
that isn't by any means limited to linux,  I'm pretty sure I have some 
dos-based stuff for the same purpose in the files section.
