RJT> Add one "server" to the mix here. Right. Good plan. Right now my so-called workstation and router act together as my 'server'. These two boxes have an ongoing identity crisis. Once I get the wiring finished and the batteries online the pc/104 jobber will become the fulltime router/firewall and that will liberate the C3 jobber as the networked audio/visual streaming server, or at least that is the current plan. I think my workstation will always be confused about it's role. RJT> I've considered that too, locally from room to room. I'll let you know but offhand I think the gstreamer libs might be what is required to push this box in the right direction. As far as little TV connected boxes I am still not sure what I am going to do there but have some ideas to keep it affordable yet desirable. Forget recording as that is where the resources are going to have to go through the roof but for playing I'd like to see how little can be gotten away with while keeping quality maximized. RJT> Fun stuff we can do with these machines, eh? :-) No doubt about that here. Life is good, Maurice --- Msged/LNX 6.1.2 * Origin: Coffin Point - Ladysmith, BC Canada (1:340/401.1) .
