I tend to be a bit paranoid myself about pricing for newer
technology but what I see around here (Mich) are prices going
down while speed is going up. 

They are testing transmition of internet protocols over power
lines in Australia. If this works another competitor enters the
contest. 

We know how automated this 'service' is for an ISP and once the
equipment is setup and functional it should be very low
maintenance and high profit for the corporations involved.
