It is the Win Modems that need a Fast CPU becasue it robs so many Clock Cycles. WC>-> WC>What I do know is www.compusa.com was at one point selling USR branded WC>-> WC>internal PCI modems for 8 dollars apiece. WC>-> WC>Somehow I doubted they were hardware modems. WC>-> That has NOTHING TO DO with What I am Talking about. MY discussion is WC>-> SOLELY about USR Serial External Models which are still avaiable for WC>-> sale. WC>-> GET OFF this Win-modem thing. the discussion is NOT about Win-Modems. WC>-> As a side note thouhg they wrok Perfectly satisfactory and you casnnot WC>-> tel lthe difference in a Computer with a 1 gig or so Faster CPU. WC>I have a 433 MHz and not problem with a hardware modem. WC>-> I stil do not recommend thme thouhg as there are several very good WC>-> fiumctioning PXCI TRUE Hardware modemns for same currently. WC>-> I have both a Creative and a Best Data and either one gicves me as good WC>-> or better speds then my Expensive USR Courier V.90 External. NO winking WC>-> and blinking lights though to make you feel Warm and Fuzzy. WC>Lighten up. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
