Subj : NASA, shuttle, anyone? To : CHARLES ANGELICH From : WAYNE CHIRNSIDE Date : Wed Aug 24 2005 01:07 am -> WC> They're out to lunch. I've heard no copy of the plans for -> WC> that Saturn 5 were retained :-( Not positive that's factual. -> Somehow that they tossed the plans doesn't surprise me anymore. Doesn't surprise me either but it's a great loss to history IMO. In the race to beat the Russians ( who were unknown to us already out of the race) the first Saturn V wasn't tested stage by stage but as an entire vehicle. This apparently flabbergasted some of our immigrant German rocket scientists. It flew first time out though ( unmanned), flawlessly. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) .
